Table

This menu is available only when a table control is active or in a rich text editor when the cursor is in a table or when a part of a table is selected. The contents of the menu are different for the two cases.

Menu Contents for a Data Table

Menu Item

New Column…

This operation is similar to the Cartesian product or to the JOIN operation known from relational databases.
Reset View
Removes changes in the table view. The view includes: row filters, table order, elimination of duplicate rows, grouping, ungrouping, or addition of computed columns.
Save View…
Saves the current table view into the View document section. A dialog for assigning a name to the view appears before saving. The named and stored view is continually updated in accordance with the changes in the source table.
Save Instant State…
Saves the instant state of the table view as a new table into the Data document section. Only the resulting values are stored, therefore the table created will be independent of the source table values or view modifications.
Create Output Template…
Creates a text output template based on the current table view. The actual text output is available in the Outputs document section. A dialog for assigning a name to the template appears before saving. The text output changes in accordance with the changes in the source table contents. Changes of the source table view do not affect it.
Create Output Text…
Creates output text based on the instant state of the table view. The resulting text may be either saved to the Data document section or a new text document may be created. A dialog appears before saving the text, in which the user can specify where the text should be stored and, if applicable, also its name. The created text will be independent of changes in the data or in the source table view.
Note: The output text can also be created by simply copying the entire table or several selected rows into a rich text editor.

Menu Item
Description
Insert Row Above
Inserts a table row above the row where the cursor is located or above the selected part of a table. The inserted row has the same format (frames, background color …) as the row where the cursor is located.
If multiple rows are selected, the number of inserted rows is the same as the number of selected rows. The newly inserted rows have the same format as the selected ones.
Insert Row Below
Like the Insert Column Above command, but the new row(s) is/are inserted below the active row(s).
Insert Column Left
Inserts a column to the left of the column where the cursor is located. The inserted column has the same format as the column where the cursor is located.
If multiple cells in multiple columns are selected, the number of inserted cells is the same as the number of selected cells. If only some of the rows are selected instead of the entire column, the new cells are inserted only in the selected rows.
Insert Column Right
Like the Insert Column Left command, but the new cells are inserted to the right.

Deletes the table cell in which the cursor is located. The respective row will be one cell shorter – the table will be jagged.
