The File menu contains commands for the creation, opening, and saving of documents to a disk.
Menu Item
Creates a new empty document.
A document template or a document type based on a file manipulator can be selected from the submenu.
Built-in file manipulators are available after installation.
Open File
Opens a previously saved document. Also allows the user to open a file by means of a file manipulator.
Built-in file manipulators are available after installation.
Save Document
Saves the active document into a file under the current name. If the file has not yet been named, a prompt for entering the name appears.
Save Document As…
Allows the user to save the file under a name different from the one under which it had been previously saved.
Duplicate Document
Creates an unnamed copy of the active document. This copy contains a duplicate of all data stored in the original document.
Close Document
Closes the active document. If it has not been saved, a prompt to save it appears.
Contains a list of all single documents. Click the desired item to open the respective document.
Built-in single documents are available after installation.
Displays the standard printing dialog of the operating system for the active text. The command is available only if a text editor or rich text editor is active.
Recent Documents
A list of recently opened documents. If desired, elements of the list can be removed by pressing the Delete key; multiple elements can be selected and removed by pressing Shift+arrow keys.
You can specify the maximum number of listed elements in the System Settings.
Exits the application. Upon exit of the application, its complete layout is saved together with unsaved data so that you can continue where you stopped after starting the application again. Unsaved data is saved into separate files created for this purpose so that the primary document files are not modified.
