char(str, n)
Returns n-th character of the string str. The index of the first character is 0. The parameter str is of the type String, Text or Rich_string. The parameter n is Int. The return value is of the type Char.
If the parameter n is negative or beyond the end of the string str, an error is returned.


The ASCII code of a character can be obtained simply by a type conversion: [Int]c. Analogically, a character can be constructed from its ASCII code: [Char]code.
